Leaf-Raking Program Available For Fanwood Seniors, Disabled Residents
Fanwood is recruiting volunteers who will rake leaves for residents aged 62 and older, as well as disabled residents.
FANWOOD, NJ — Senior citizens and disabled residents in Fanwood in need of help with raking their leaves are eligible to participate in a new free program from Fanwood Senior Services.
The Borough is recruiting volunteers to rake leaves for residents aged 62 and over or disabled residents. Individuals, Boy Scout troops, Girl Scout troops or other local groups are encouraged to volunteer.
Those who volunteer will be paired with residents who would like the service, choosing either Saturday, Dec. 3 or Sunday, Dec. 4 to have the work done.

"This is one of those small tasks that our senior and disabled residents will really appreciate," said Mayor Colleen Mahr. "And I know there are plenty of volunteers who will open their hearts to help out."
