Pre-K Registration To Open For Scotch Plains-Fanwood Schools
Applications for Scotch Plains-Fanwood preschool enrollment will open on March 1, according to the district.
SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Public School District will begin accepting preschool applications for the 2022-2023 school year starting March 1.
According to the district, applicants must be residents of Scotch Plains or Fanwood and they must show proof of residency, as well as an original birth certificate for new students enrolling in the program.
The Preschool Program uses the Creative Curriculum, which "fosters children's learning through exploration and discovery," according to the district. Classes are comprised of general education students and students with special needs, as determined by an evaluation from the district.

The child's age as of Oct. 1, 2022 will determine placement in either a 3-year-old or 4-year-old class. Typically, 3-year-olds attend the morning session from 8:25-11:20 a.m., whereas 4-year-olds attend the afternoon session from 12:20-3:10 p.m. All classes meet five days per week.
Tuition for the half-day program costs $360 per month, and a 10 percent sibling discount is available. In addition, fee or reduced tuition may be available for families who qualify per federal guidelines or a district review.

Applications will open on the program website starting March 1.
Completed applications must be mailed to the preschool office at 667 Westfield Road, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076.
