Snow Day For Scotch Plains-Fanwood Schools, Township Update
The Scotch Plains-Fanwood School District called a snow day on Friday and cancelled all activities. Municipal Building has delayed opening.
SCOTCH PLAINS-FANWOOD, NJ — All Scotch Plains-Fanwood Public Schools are closed Friday due to the snowstorm that hit the township early Friday morning.
The school district announced last night that all schools and activities would be canceled due to the inclement weather on Jan. 7.
The National Weather Serviced issued a Winter Weather Advisory until 12 p.m. on Friday. Gov. Murphy also issued a State of Emergency for the storm on Thursday.

The Scotch Plains Municipal Building will have a delayed opening until 10:30 a.m., according to an update from the township.
The township asks residents to check on elderly neighbors and assist them if they need help clearing snow. If residents have a fire hydrant near or in front of their homes, they should clear snow around it to help the Fire Department out.
