Man Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Woman In Car In Secaucus In 2023

SECAUCUS, NJ — A Long Island man was arrested last Wednesday and is charged with sexually assaulting a woman inside a car in the Harmon Meadow section of Secaucus one year ago.

The man charged is Fenghua Zhao, 50, of New Hyde Park, NY.

At 4:40 p.m. last Wednesday, he was taken into police custody at Secaucus Police headquarter and charged with sexual assault [2C:14-2C(1)] and false imprisonment [2C:13-3].

Police say the alleged sex assault took place in October, 2023 in a car parked in the parking lot at 300 Plaza Drive (in front of the Red Lobster) in Secaucus: The victim and Zhao knew each other. He is accused of holding the victim down as he committed the sexual act.

Police would not reveal if the woman is a Secaucus resident or not.

Secaucus Police arrested Zhao and charged him with the crime one year later, due to "evidence recovered from scene," said Police Chief Dennis Miller on Monday. He did not elaborate.

Zhao was issued his complaint warrant and was transported to the Hudson County Jail.
