Man Made Racially-Charged Comment To Woman, Child, Secaucus Police Say
A Secaucus man was charged with bias intimidation and harassment for making a racially-charged comment to a woman and her young child:

SECAUCUS, NJ — A Secaucus man was charged with bias intimidation and harassment for allegedly making a racially-charged comment to a woman and her child last week.
This happened last Wednesday morning at the Community Center/Tot Center on Front Street, said Secaucus Police: Police were called to the community center at 10:26 a.m. for a report of bias harassment.
Police say a local man, Gary McSweeney, 64, of Secaucus, made a comment that was derogatory regarding ethnicity/race to a woman and her young child. The woman and her child were coming out of the tot center when this happened.

Police Chief Dennis Miller said he could not release exactly what McSweeney is accused of saying.
McSweeney does not work for the Community Center or the town.

Police arrested McSweeney later that same afternoon. He is charged with one count of bias intimidation and harassment. He was released on a summons to appear in town court.
