The Bayonne native had many passions apart from his beloved police department, including cooking, going to Disney World, attending Broadway shows and musicals, storytelling, and, most of all, his family, his obituary says.

“Sergeant Skalski diligently served our community for approximately 24 years,” Bayonne Police Chief Robert Geisler said in a statement. “He will be sorely missed.”
