Woman Taken Into Custody At Extended Stay Hotel In Secaucus

SECAUCUS, NJ — A woman was taken into police custody last Thursday night, June 26, at the Extended Stay hotel on Meadowlands Parkway, said Secaucus Police.

Police were initially called because the woman was threatening to stab people, said police.

At 8:53 p.m. Thursday, Secaucus Police were called to the Extended Stay for a 911 call of a woman acting erratic and making threats to harm others, specifically by threatening to stab them.

Upon arrival of patrol officers, the woman threatened to cause injury to police officers also, but she then barricaded herself in her hotel room. The Hudson County Regional SWAT team was called in.

"After over three hours of failed attempts at making contact with the emotionally disturbed person, SWAT made entry in the hotel room at approximately 1:45 a.m. and detained the woman without any injuries being sustained," said Secaucus Police. "She was involuntarily committed to the hospital pending a psychiatric evaluation."
