SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - A fire damaged a townhome unit in South Brunswick, rendering it inhabitable, police said. All residents were evacuated and no injuries were reported.
On Sunday, at 4:55 p.m., South Brunswick Police and all three South Brunswick Fire Companies were dispatched to Cotoneaster Court in the South Ridge Hills complex for a reported structure fire.

The fire unit is currently uninhabitable, with residents allowed to re-occupy the other three units in the building, police said.
To confine the fire, firefighters rapidly deployed multiple hoselines into the building, while additional crews performed searches to confirm all occupants made it outside safely.
The fire had already shattered a sliding glass door before the fire department's arrival, and very easily could have caused much more damage if not for the aggressive actions of the firefighters, officials said.
Firefighters from Monmouth Junction, Kendall Park, Kingston, Plainsboro, and Jamesburg responded to the fire.
Additional fire crews from Brookview, Franklin Park, Griggstown, and Montgomery Township covered South Brunswick fire stations during the incident.
EMS units from South Brunswick, Plainsboro, and Milltown responded.
The fire is currently under investigation by the South Brunswick Township Fire Safety Bureau.
