Man Charged After Assaulting Crime Victim In South Brunswick PD Parking Lot: Cops
Jahad Goines Sr. was taken into custody from his home on Wednesday, police said.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A South Brunswick man was charged after authorities said he assaulted a crime victim in the parking lot of the South Brunswick Police Headquarters.
Jahad Goines Sr., 41, of Laurel Court in the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick was charged with 2nd degree witness tampering and simple assault.
On Jan. 11, a crime victim was coming to South Brunswick Police Headquarters to make a report of an incident in which Goines Sr. was the suspect, police said. Goines Sr. drove to the police headquarters parking lot and confronted the victim. He then threatened and assaulted the victim in the parking lot and fled the area, police said.

Det. Sgt. Timothy Hoover investigated the case and recovered physical evidence linking Goines Sr. to the parking lot and the assault.
On Wednesday, at noon, Goines Sr. was taken into custody from his residence. He was currently lodged in the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center pending his detention hearing.

“We will not let crime victims be intimated from seeking assistance," South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka said. "I want to thank the Middlesex County Prosecutors Office for their assistance in this incident.”
