Rutgers Cooperative Extension February Calendar For South Brunswick

Get a head start on gardening, environmental topics and more.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – February is proving to be a quiet month for the Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Middlesex County, with very limited events scheduled.

All the following events will take place at the EARTH Center located in Davidson’s Mill Pond Park, 42 Riva Ave., South Brunswick, NJ.

  • Are you in the” Green “industry and need pesticide credits? Many will be available at the Central Jersey Turf and Ornamental Institute, Friday, Feb. 28, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Fee: $75 per person, includes lunch.   • Get your kids involved in a Middlesex County 4-H Club or become an adult volunteer. 4‑H is a community of young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills. The New Jersey 4‑H Youth Development Program offers everyone in grades K–13, the opportunity to explore countless opportunities in science, arts, foods, outdoor adventure, and more. 4‑H is where there's fun in learning and learning is fun.
  • Help combat the spread of invasives while promoting native plants in the community. Native Plant Donations for Habitat Projects by Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Middlesex County, donates native plants to local organizations to create or enhance habitat, such as pollinators, butterflies, or rain gardens. To qualify the project must be in Middlesex, Union, or Somerset counties only and must be at a public location like a library, school, park, or municipal complex.   • Have you been wanting to start backyard composting at home? Consider getting a jump start on the season by purchasing a compost bin.
  • RU Ready 2 Garden? Get a head start in 2025 with our webinar series offering quality information on gardening and environmental topics from Rutgers NJAES experts and trained Master Gardeners.
