South Brunswick Schools Schedules Parent Academy For Feb. 20
This year's topic will be centered around smartphones and how they've led to the collapse of children's mental health.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – The South Brunswick School District regularly offers parents and guardians in the community a series of workshops under the umbrella of the South Brunswick Parent Academy (SBPA).
This year’s parent academy has been scheduled for Feb. 20, with an aim to provide a wealth of information on timely and relevant issues facing families today.
The district will host a three-part series for this year’s SBPA- “The Anxious Generation,” centered around the New York Times bestseller, by Jonathan Haidt.

In this series, guest experts will dive into the role smartphones and social media have played in the collapse of children's mental health and what the adults in their lives can do to make a much-needed change.
Ira Hays, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) will be the guest expert to further the conversation around this topic.

An accomplished and passionate LCSW, Hays has a diverse and distinguished career spanning various facets of mental health and education. He is a sought-after presenter in his field and is the founder and owner of Hays Health and Wellness. Hays is also an Adjunct Professor at Monmouth University.
The sessions will be held from 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Crossroads North Middle School.
