South Brunswick Woman Killed In Crash After Driver Runs Red Light: Cops
The crash took place on Oct. 3, when the driver of an SUV ran a red light and struck the vehicle she was traveling in, authorities said
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A 43-year-old South Brunswick woman was killed last week when the driver of an SUV ran a red light and hit the vehicle she was traveling in, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Raymond Hayducka of the South Brunswick Police said Friday.
On Thursday, Oct. 3, around 7:13 p.m., authorities responded to the area of Route 522 and Georges Road following a report of a motor vehicle crash.
On arrival, authorities found a Hyundai Sonata with three occupants, that had been struck by a Jeep Liberty.

The crash resulted in serious injuries to the driver, front passenger and rear passenger of the Hyundai, Ciccone said. All three were taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for treatment. The rear passenger, Ranjinidevi Ramakrishnan of Kendall Park, succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
According to an initial investigation, the driver of the Jeep Liberty ran a red light causing the crash. The driver sustained injuries and was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for treatment.

The initial investigation was conducted by Officer Trevor Michie of the South Brunswick Police Department and Detective James Alleva of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office. The investigation is active and continuing.
