Special Juneteenth Event In South Brunswick On Sunday

The special event will see a performance by Queen Nur and the Zawadi African Dance and Drum ensemble.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — The Township's public library will be hosting a special Juneteenth performance this month.

Sponsored by the Friends of the South Brunswick Public Library, the event will see a performance by Queen Nur, including storytelling about the origins of Juneteenth intertwined with African drumming. The Zawadi African Dance and Drum ensemble will be presenting traditional African dance, music, and history.

The event will be held at Woodlot Park and attendees should bring a blanket or lawn chair.

Grant funding for the event has been provided by the Middlesex County Board of County Commissioners, through a grant award from the County's Cultural and Arts Trust Fund.
