Man Dies From Injuries Sustained In House Fire
A Lacey resident was killed in a house fire over the weekend, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.

Around 5:50 p.m. on Friday, Lacey Township Police and Fire Departments were dispatched for a reported fire on Signal Street. First responders found Edward Teixeira, 75, outside the house.
Teixeira suffered serious burns to his body and was taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River for treatment. He succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined, but accidental causes cannot be ruled out, Billhimer said.
Donkey, Miniature Horse Killed In Barn Fire
A donkey and a miniature horse were killed when an electric cord sparked a fire in a backyard barn in Egg Harbor on Sunday morning, according to media reports.
The barn erupted in flames around 11 a.m., and both animals could not be rescued before local firefighters could extinguish the fire, NJ.com reported.
According to the report, the homeowner was feeding the animals when he mistook the smell of smoke as coming from the house. The fire was deemed accidental.
77-Year-Old Seriously Injured In Crash
A 77-year-old man was seriously injured in a crash that took place on Parkway North in Old Bridge, according to media reports.
Patrick Morris, 77, of Nutley, lost control of his vehicle around 10 a.m. on Saturday, ran off the road, and hit several trees, reported News12. Authorities are investigating the crash.
20-Year-Old Shot And Killed In Jersey City
A 20-year-old man was fatally shot in Jersey City on Friday night, authorities said. The suspect is at large.
Rahmiere Morris, 20, of Jersey City was found in the area of Lembeck Avenue and Old Bergen Road with a gunshot wound to the torso after police were called around 8:30 p.m., the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said.
He was taken to Jersey City Medical Center and pronounced dead around 9:35 p.m., the prosecutor’s office said.

Man Found With Weapons On Train
A man was removed from an Amtrak train and taken into custody on Friday afternoon after he was found with three handguns and two rifles, according to media reports.
The investigation began at Newark Penn Station when NJ Transit Police found an unattended bag with a handgun and loaded rifle, NJ101.5 reported.
Authorities determined that the person had purchased an Amtrak ticket and was on their way to Virginia. Police then stopped the train in Trenton and arrested a man, 6ABC reported.
The man had three handguns and two loaded rifles with him on the train. Investigation is ongoing.
