Five Things You Need to Know Today: Dec. 1

Hanukkah, hockey and more winter fun.

  2. Get ready to kick some ice. Dayton Hockey's opening game is today at 5 p.m. at the Union Sports Arena on Rte. 22.
  3. The Community Conference of Springfield Schools' Parent Groups' annual coat drive is under way until Dec. 10. Click for more information and for drop off locations.
  4. Winter doesn't just mean holidays. It's also a chance for some indoor fun. In that spirit, Springfield Public Schools' All For One Fund holds its Cabin Fever Game Day Saturday, Dec. 4 from 10 a.m to 4 p.m at Gaudineer school. It's a day of board games and family fun.
  5. Walton parents take note: Friday is School Spirit Day.  Please dress your children in their favorite Walton sweat-wear or spirit school colors, Orange and Blue.
