Holidays? More like holidaze!

  1. Get ready to kick some ice. Dayton Hockey's opening game is Wednesday, Dec. 1 at the Union Sports Arena on Rte. 22
  2. Holiday season is kicking off big time. Next week, Springfield holds its annual tree lighting ceremony., it was a lavish holiday spectacle with music, lights and a dramatic visit from Santa.
  3. The Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Union County is offering a free class called "Bringing Vegetables to the Table." The class, timed surely as a cool-down from Thanksgiving, will meet tonight from 7 – 9 p.m. at the County services building in Westfield (300 North Avenue East). There is no fee but pre-registration is required by contacting Digna Torres at the Extension, 908-654-9854 or dtorres@ucnj.org.
  4. Winter doesn't just mean holidays. It's also a chance for some indoor fun. In that spirit, Springfield Public Schools' All For One Fund holds its Cabin Fever Game Day Saturday, Dec. 4 from 10 a.m to 4 p.m at Gaudineer school. It's a day of board games and family fun.
  5. Walton parents take note: Friday is School Spirit Day.  Please dress your children in their favorite Walton sweat-wear or spirit school colors, Orange and Blue.
