Holiday Model Train Show Returns To Union County

More than 11,000 square feet of displays will be showcased.

UNION, NJ — The Union County 2025 Holiday Model Train Show starts on Friday at the A. Paul Mallery Model Railroad Center.

The show and open house will include an HO-scale layout, G-scale layouts, N-scale layouts, a kids' play area, and railroad-themed gift shop across 11,000 square feet of displays.

More than 200 model train cars on a 1,600 square-foot layout will also tell the story of New Jersey railroads in the 1950s.

"Our annual model train show is a holiday favorite in Union County," Chairwoman for Union County Lourdes M. Leon said. "It's an opportunity for adults and children alike to take a break from their screens, reconnect, and enjoy what Union County has to offer."

The event runs over three consecutive weekends at the building behind the Home Depot from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Tickets range from $5 for children, $8 for seniors, and $10 for adults. All tickets are sold at the door.

All proceeds from the event go towards supporting the Model Railroad Club, Inc., one of the largest railroad clubs in the Garden State.

"The Commissioner Board and I are thrilled to continue supporting the Model Railroad Club," said Leon. "We can't wait to see everyone there!"

The Model Railroad Club, Inc. is a public charity that's affiliated with the Union County Department of Parks & Recreation. Around 160 volunteers work together to educate others about the railroads and businesses they served in the Tri-State area.
