Springfield 9/11 Memorial Ceremony is Wednesday

2 people from Springfield died in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001.

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — The township's annual 9/11 observance service is Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. at the Adler/Hiltbridle Community Garden on Wabeno Avenue.

A bell will toll at 8:46 a.m. and again at 9:03 a.m., the times the two towers of the World Trade Center were hit by gasoline-fueled commercial jets.

A wreath will be placed at the garden in memory of the two Springfield residents died in the attacks, JoAnn L. Heltibridle, 46 and Lee Adler, 48.

Fifty-eight other Union County residents died in the 9/11 terror attacks.
