3 Roads Closed In Summit Due To Gas Pipe Replacement

Three roads are closed in Summit on Tuesday, as PSE&G crews work to replace gas pipes throughout the city.

SUMMIT, NJ — Several roads are closed in Summit on Tuesday due to the ongoing PSE&G gas pipe replacement project.

Beechwood Road between Deforest Avenue and Euclid Avenue, Karen Way between Canoe Brook Parkway and Wade Drive and Hillcrest Avenue between Beechwood Road and Woodland Avenue are all closed until around 5 p.m., according to the city.

Work on this project is expected to be complete by early summer 2023 depending on project progress over the winter.

PSE&G crews will be replacing mains and services on the following streets in Summit over the next week:

  • Summit Avenue
  • Euclid Avenue between Beechwood Road and Summit Avenue
  • Kent Place Boulevard
  • Karen Way between Butler Parkway and Woodland Avenue
  • Ox Bow Lane between Summit Avenue Fernwood Road
  • Wildwood Lane
  • Little Wolf Road between Drum Hill Drive and Tanglewood Drive
  • Dale Drive

Road closures and detours will be in effect, and Summit Police will be onsite to direct traffic. Work will take place Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., weather permitting.
