$33K Awarded To Summit High School For Auditorium Sound System Upgrade

Through a grant given by The Summit Foundation, Summit High School will receive a new sound system for its auditorium.

SUMMIT, NJ — Summit Public Schools was recently awarded a $33,000 grant from The Summit Foundation.

This money will go toward upgrading Summit High School’s sound system in the auditorium, according to the district.

The anticipated installation of the new sound system will occur in the summer of 2023.

"Our students will truly benefit from a new sound system in the High School auditorium," said Scott Hough, Superintendent of Summit Public Schools. "The auditorium is used for a plethora of student activities, including our award-winning theater performances, chorus and band concerts, and larger assemblies, as well as a space for community groups to hold meetings and events. We thank the members of The Summit Foundation for their generosity and support in enhancing our students’ educational experience."

In related news, the Summit High School Performing Arts program is to preform the musical "Something Rotten!" in the auditorium from March 1-4.

Each year, The Summit Foundation invests $1 million to support public programs and services in the community through foundation-directed grants, community-supported funds, scholarships, and donor-advised distributions.
