Area Schools Launch Parent Wellness Webinar Series Amid Pandemic
Summit Public Schools will hold a webinar focused on grief and loss during the coronavirus pandemic on Sept. 23.
SUMMIT, NJ — The school year is now underway in Summit, but few things remain certain. But, as students and their families take on the challenge of learning during the coronavirus pandemic, the Student Assistance Counselors of Summit has offered assistance.
For students attending and their families, an upcoming wellness webinar intends to help families adjust to the new normal and deal with grief and loss resulting from the pandemic.
In a Facebook post, Summit Public Schools said the first webinar will be held on Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. Hosted by Lisa Athan of Grief Speaks, the seminar can accompany up to 1,000 attendees and will include time for a Q&A.

The webinar is put on by the Student Assistance Counselors of Summit. Each district — Summit, Chatham, Millburn, Berkeley Heights and New Providence Consortium — will hold its own seminar for community members in the series.
