Authorities Investigating Structure Fire in Summit
Fire fighters responded to reports of smoke from a two-car garage in a Summit home Monday.

The Summit Fire Department responded to a fire on Rotary Drive after receiving reports of smoke coming from a garage on Monday afternoon.
Firefighters responded to the residence after receiving the initial report at 3:42 p.m. The fire was contained to the home’s two-care garage, with minor smoke damage in the kitchen and mudroom, authorities said. The fire was contained by 4:22 p.m.
“Our firefighters made a quick stop and were able to effectively control the fire,”Summit Battalion Chief Paul Imbimbo said. “The fire remained contained to the garage and there were no reported injuries to residents or firefighters.”

The Summit Fire Department was assisted by Maplewood, Union and Westfield fire departments.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated by the Summit Fire Department investigation team.
