The Fortnightly Club of Summit Awards $10,000 Scholarships to Two Exceptional Students

Jade Augustin and Jimena Chaves-Chacon of Summit High School Each Receive Manley-Winser Scholarships of $10,000

Summit, NJ — June 9, 2025 — The Fortnightly Club of Summit is proud to announce the awarding of two $10,000 Manley-Winser Scholarships to outstanding graduating seniors from Summit High School. These young women exemplify academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service.

Jade Augustin will be attending Rutgers University – New Brunswick to pursue a degree in law. A strong academic performer, she has founded two impactful student clubs at Summit High School: one focused on promoting mental well-being and creating a space for students to decompress from their busy lives, and another dedicated to community service, organizing regular drives to collect food, clothing, and cleaning supplies for those in need. In addition to her academic and volunteer achievements, she is also a member of the school’s track and field and cheerleading teams.

Jimena Chaves-Chacon, also heading to Rutgers University this fall, plans to major in data analysis with the goal of becoming a financial manager. A hardworking and determined student, she will be the first in her family to attend college. She balances her academic responsibilities with part-time work and participation on the volleyball team, showing a remarkable commitment to both her education and her family.
