Franklin School Students Reach Out to Seniors

Several students participated in the Spend-A-Day program at SAGE.

Ryan Quinn, a fifth grader at Summit's Franklin School, and his new friend, Jimmie, are hard at work making holiday paper chains during the fifth grade students' visit to Center on Broad Street.

The participants in the Spend-A-Day program at the SAGE center enjoyed visits from the students on Dec. 13 and Dec. 20.

The students entertained the seniors with holiday songs and craft projects. The fifth graders split into two groups, each group visiting on one of those dates as a community outreach project. With training from vocal music teachers Fancois Suhr and Hana Chang, the students sang three holiday songs they had learned for their winter concert. There also was a sign language version.
