Free Carriage Rides, Music At Summit's Celebration Of All Things 'Holiday'

SUMMIT, NJ — The holiday season is in full swing in Downtown Summit and the city is having a special celebration all afternoon on Dec. 20.

"Celebrate in Summit" is your free ticket to enjoy all things "holiday" themed around the community from 1 to 4 p.m.

Carolers and musicians will be lining the streets with festive tunes, along with a performance from DJ Mr. Socks at Lyric Park.

Free horse-drawn carriage rides will also take place at Lyric Park. The line will be closed at 3:30 p.m. for the rides that will run until 4 p.m.

The line and starting point will be at the corner of Beechwood Road and Bank Street (14 Beechwood Rd.).

Live ice carving performances and winter princess appearances will be taking place at The Promenade (545 Morris Ave.). Kids can also enjoy interactive crafts at the event.

Every activity is free and a result of sponsorships from the stores and businesses that make up Downtown Summit.
