Free Holiday Fun, Tree Lighting In Summit on Friday
Santa will also be making an appearance.
SUMMIT, NJ — The Summit community is invited to the city's holiday tree lighting and "Miracle on Elm Street" festivities Friday on the Village Green.
Santa will also be making an appearance at the end of the afternoon, escorted by the Summit Fire Department.
The event is free and includes rentals of skates for those who'd like to get out on the ice. Skating sessions will be every half hour with no registration required, the City of Summit said.

Bonfires, free hot chocolate, cookie decorating, crafts, and other activities will be a part of the fun, along with a tribute to America's 250th birthday in 2026.
Some activities will be historical-themed and honor the colonial time period along with New Jersey's role in the Revolutionary War.

Music and other live entertainment will also take place from 1 to 5 p.m. ahead of Santa's arrival with Mayor Elizabeth Fagan.
After the tree is lit at 5 p.m., Santa will be available for photos with kids and families.

The Village Green is located at 356 Broad St. Some events will also be held in the Elm Street parking lot.
