Lincoln-Hubbard Showcases Its Arts

L-H student works focused on Japanese culture also were on display.

A recent Board of Education meeting opened with a showcase of the creativity abounding at  School in Summit.

Fifth-grade students created Japanese doruma dolls, fourth-graders tried their hands at creating cherry blossom artworks, while third-graders created geisha doll and kimono art pieces. Second-grade students learned about the importance of koinobori, or carp kites, in Japanese culture and created some of their own.

The  fifth-grade select chorus under music teacher Jody Laura performed several tunes to parents' delight.  Another musical treat included the school's orchestra under Maria Gazzillo, which also shined.
