Lucia Smircich, of Summit, Commits to Play Lacrosse at Bucknell

Villa Walsh Academy junior was an honorable mention for the 2011 All Morris County Team.

T3 Lacrosse congratulates Lucia Smircich on her verbal commitment to attend and play lacrosse for Bucknell University in the 2013/2014 season.

Smircich, the daughter of Mike and Angel Smircich of Stirling, is a high school junior at Villa Walsh Academy and has been playing lacrosse in T3’s Elite program for five years. She continues to be a dominant defensive force for the T3 North 2013 Black team.

Smircich is looking forward to receiving a great education at Bucknell and to playing D1 Lacrosse (Patriot League) with and against some of the best players in the country.

One of Ms. Smircich’s favorite defensive tricks is the stick butt-check—instead of checking the offensive player’s stick head to turn over the ball, she checks the bottom of the players stick. She feels that it’s a very underrated (and unexpected) move yet extremely effective when done right.

Her most recent athletic accomplishments include being named Honorable Mention All League, Independence Division 2011 and All Morris County Honorable Mention Team 2011. In addition, she is the Villa Walsh Varsity Basketball Captain and the Varsity Lacrosse Captain. Her favorite memory of playing for her T3 team is winning the Jersey Shore: Best of the Beach Lacrosse Tournament in the summer of 2011.

T3 Lacrosse offers elite teams based out of northern/central NJ and also the Jersey Shore area. There are opportunities for fifth grade and up as part of their Elite Team Program. Elite players with a passion for playing collegiate lacrosse receive unparalleled support throughout the recruiting process. T3 also offers year-round training programs for grades K-12, throughout NJ.
