Montclair Residents Host 41st Annual 'Bunk's Fun Run'

December, 2024 – Montclair residents Bruce and Susan Reitz hosted over 30 people at the 41st Annual Bunk’s Fun Run on Sunday, December 8th. Their college friends, neighbors, Board Members, staff, and other S/PA supporters raised over $23,000 for scholarships for students. Since the Fun Run was started in 1983, it has donated over $240,000 to S/PA.

It was a beautiful December day for Fun Run participants to enjoy exercise and the feast that followed. Congrats to first time women’s and men’s winners; Danna Jacobs of Randolph, NJ and Brian Hava of Hopedale, MA! It was a little windy, which cancelled the fire pit on the patio, but did not deter the 24 runners and walkers on the streets of Montclair! Following the event, Susan and her very talented team of cooks and bakers provided everyone with a delicious meal. The organizers have announced that the 42nd Annual Bunk’s Fun Run is scheduled to take place next year on December 7, 2025.

The mission of Student/Partner Alliance (S/PA) is to support motivated high school students at private high schools in New Jersey’s urban areas of Essex and Hudson counties with tuition assistance and mentoring to increase their chances for college admission and scholarships, and ultimately to lead successful and productive lives.
