New Assistant Principal Selected For Summit Middle School
Jenna Colineri, who has more than 15 years of special education teaching experience, was selected as the next assistant principal.

SUMMIT, NJ — Administrators at Summit Public Schools have selected a new assistant principal of Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School, pending approval by the Summit Board of Education.
Jenna Colineri, a professional with more than 15 years of special education teaching experience at the elementary and middle levels in the Summit Public School District, was selected as the next assistant principal, according to an announcement form the district on Friday.
The assistant principal position became available when John Ciferni, who previous had that role for five years, was selected to serve as the principal of the middle school in early September.

Throughout Colineri's nine-year tenure as a special education teacher at the middle school, the district said she facilitated teacher training for the use of the i-Ready data system, developed and implemented curriculum, and advanced and delivered professional development.

She has also been a member of several committees, including the District Equity Advisory Council and School Safety Team.
Prior to her role at the middle school, Colineri was a special education teacher at Franklin Elementary School for six years.
"I am excited for Ms. Colineri to join our Middle School administrative team,” said Principal Ciferni. “Jenna is a respected member of the school community who continually advocates for the needs of our students. Additionally, she is a dedicated and hard-working educator who will make a significant impact in our school environment."
Formal approval of Colineri’s appointment is anticipated at the Oct. 13 Board of Education meeting.
The leadership team at the middle school now consists of John Ciferni, Principal, Laura Muller, Assistant Principal, and Jenna Colineri, Assistant Principal.
