New Tanning Salon Opens In Downtown Summit

SUMMIT, NJ — For those looking for a natural-looking tan this winter, a new salon in Summit may be just right place to visit.

BlushTan recently opened a studio at 447 Springfield Avenue, Suite 4. Since opening its first salon in Wellesley, Massachusetts in 2011, BlushTan has expanded to 15 states.

This is BlushTan's second New Jersey location, with the first located in Hoboken.

BlushTan offers three types of spray tans: full body, partial body and a face-only tan.

The salon also offers a variety of tanning solutions. For example, the original "sleep-on-it" solution is best for late evening appointments, and clients can go home after their application, go to bed and the tan will set while you sleep.

According to its website, BlushTan provides a wide range of tanning shades for all different skin tones.

"We do not believe in the stereotypical, one-color-fits-all 'tan' result, so we created our line of blushtan® professional solutions to include different color bases, along with multiple levels of darkness within each base. All of these options allow our consultants to mix over 100 different custom colors and provide natural looking results for all skin tones," the website states.

In addition, all products at BlushTan are "doctor formulated" and the salon aims to increase its use of naturally derived ingredients to provide a "guilt-free glowing."

All spray tanning solutions are water based, use FDA-approved ingredients, hypoallergenic, free of harsh dyes and chemicals, fragrance free, vegan, nut-free, gluten-free and more.
