Officials were on the scene of a reported homicide Tuesday morning in Union Township, investigating what would be the fifth homicide in Union County in two weeks.
Homicide investigators were in the 800 block of Salem Road, according to NJ.com, where "two law enforcement sources" told the website one person was killed, though prosecutors did not confirm the death.

On Thursday, June 23, police said a man in Plainfield was sitting on his back porch when an armed person approached him and demanded money. After words were exchanged, the man was shot dead, and the suspect escaped on foot.
That same night, a woman was shot dead in her Plainfield back yard.
Last week, a Springfield man was charged with stabbing his mother and grandfather to death in their home. Police responded to a welfare check in that home and found the two people dead. A quick investigation led authorities to arrest and charge James Brown, 27, in connection with their deaths.
