Police Blotter: Teens Hit With Assault Charge; Locker Thefts Reported at SHS

Feb. 15

 

Charles Cherry,  57, of Irvington was arrested at Morris Avenue for alleged contempt of court.

A New England Avenue garden apartment resident reported an attempted forced entry that occurred sometime in the last two weeks. No entry was gained.

Feb. 14

 

Craig Rose, 59, of Summit was arrested at Springfield Avenue and Maple Street for driving while suspended.

 

Feb. 11

 

Trayahna T. Southerland, 23, of South Plainfield was arrested at River Road and Butler Parkway for driving while suspended.

 

Feb. 10

 

Daniel Leston , 21, of Warren was arrested at Morris Avenue and Mountain Avenue for alleged possession of 50 Grams or less of marijuana and operation of a motor vehicle while in possession of a controlled and dangerous substance.

 

Jacklyn Vazquez, 23, of Watchung was arrested at Morris Avenue and Mountain Avenue for alleged possession of 50 Grams or less of marijuana.

 

A $50 check was reported stolen from the collection box at a Springfield Avenue church sometime between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

 

 

Feb. 9

 

An I-pod valued at $300 was reported stolen from a backpack in the girls’ locker room at Summit High School sometime between 10:15 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Feb. 8.

 

 

Feb. 8

 

Robert D. Spinelli, 41, of Kendall Park was arrested at Morris Avenue for allegedly driving while intoxicated.

 

Feb. 7

 

A MAC Book Pro computer valued at $1,218.67 was reported stolen from a backpack in the boys’ locker room at on Jan. 26.

 

Feb. 6

A wallet valued at $50 with approximately $500 cash was reported stolen from a purse located in the staff kitchen at a Prospect Street private hospital facility sometime between 11 p.m. Feb. 5 and 5:30 a.m., today.

 

Calvin S. Battle 53, of Newark was arrested at Springfield Avenue for contempt of court.

 

Feb. 5

Two Summit teens were arrested on a charge of aggravated assault. (Update: The charges were later dropped)

 

An Ashwood Avenue resident reported a burglary and theft of a Sony stereo valued at $300.

 

Feb. 3

 

Caandon M. Hudson, 23, of Summit was arrested at Weaver Street for allegedly driving while suspended.

 

Feb. 2

 

Anne M. Treger, 44, of Summit was arrested at Springfield Avenue for allegedly driving while suspended.

 

Feb. 1

 

Alexander S. Weitzner, 18, of Summit was arrested at Briant Parkway for alleged obstruction of justice in the 4th degree.
