Power Outage Prompts 2 Street Closures In Summit: Police

Access to Route 24 from Summit Ave. has been blocked off due to the power outage. Detours are in place. See below for alternate routes:

SUMMIT, NJ — Two streets are closed in Summit on Monday due to a power outage resulting from transformer failure, according to Summit Police.

Police said there is no access to Route 24 (124) westbound from Summit Avenue. Drivers are advised to use Hobart Avenue or River Road to access routes west.

Access is available from Summit Avenue to Route 24 (124) east, according to police.

Woodland Avenue is also closed between Beverly Road and Karen Way. Drivers should plan alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion in these areas, police said. Detours are in place.

JCP&L crews have arrived to investigate the power outage. Police said estimated restoration time is 11A a.m.
