Several Roads Closed In Summit Due To PSE&G Gas Pipe Replacement

SUMMIT, NJ — The PSE&G project to replace gas pipes throughout Summit is still underway, and a section of Hillcrest Avenue is closed on Thursday.
Hillcrest Avenue is closed between Beechwood Road and Bellevue Avenue until approximately 5 p.m. on Thursday, according to the city.
Update: The city also announced additional road closures until 5 p.m. on Thursday. Dale Drive, Euclid Avenue (between Beechwood Road and Summit Avenue) and Karen Way (between Wade Drive and Canoe Brook Parkway) are all closed.

Work on this project is expected to be complete by early summer 2023 depending on project progress over the winter. PSE&G crews will be replacing mains and services on the following streets in Summit over the next two weeks:
- Badeau Avenue
- Hillcrest Avenue
- Euclid Avenue between Beechwood Road and Summit Avenue
- Karen Way between Wade Drive and Woodland Avenue
- Ox Bow Lane between Summit Avenue and Fernwood Road
- Whittredge Road between Hobart Avenue and Essex Road
- Little Wolf Road between Drumm Hill Drive and Tanglewood Drive
- Dale Drive
Road closures and detours will be in effect, and Summit Police will be onsite to direct traffic. Work will take place Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., weather permitting.
