Safety Concerns May Take Some Parking Away In Summit

Multiple streets would be affected.

SUMMIT, NJ — Parking may no longer be allowed in a few areas of the community thanks to a new ordinance introduced by Summit Common Council.

On Tuesday night, Councilmember Jamel Boyer presented Ordinance 12303 that would amend the parking code for the city. The motion comes after recommendations from both the Summit Police Department and the Department of Community Service.

"Safety, visibility, and traffic flow have been ongoing concerns," added Boyer.
