Summit Man Stabbed 3 Times In Walnut Street Altercation: Police

Police arrested a 24-year-old Summit man in connection with the stabbing on Sunday night. The victim is in critical condition, police said.

SUMMIT, NJ — A 26-year-old Summit resident was found with three knife wounds on his back Sunday night after a fight, according to Summit Police.

Officers rushed to the scene of a fight in progress outside a Walnut Street residence at about 11:20 p.m., police said.

The man was rushed to Overlook Medical Center by the Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad, police said. He was later airlifted to Morristown Medical Center.

Update: According to representatives at Morristown Medical Center Monday afternoon, the victim is out of surgery and reportedly in stable condition.

A witness told police that the victim and suspect had been drinking together in front of a home on Walnut Street when a dispute occurred, resulting in the stabbing.

A short time later, a Summit patrol identified the suspect walking near the Summit train station. The suspect ran from police, and officers eventually arrested him without further incident outside the Cullis Tier garage on Maple Street.

Feliceto Bravo-Solano, 24, of Walnut Street in Summit was charged with third-degree assault, fourth-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, third-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and fourth degree providing false information to police.

He was sent to Union County Jail pending a bail hearing, according to police.

The incident is still under investigation by the Summit Police Department Detective Bureau.
