Summit Police Are Looking For More Crossing Guards

School crossing guards are paid up to $50 a day.

SUMMIT, NJ — The Summit Police Department is looking to hire more crossing guards for the fall.

The additional school crossing guards will work two shifts each day from 7:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. Monday through Friday when school is in session.

School crossing guards are paid up to $50 a day. A generous incentive bonus is given for perfect attendance during the school year. Uniforms and training are provided.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and provide their own transportation to crossing posts. Applications are available at the Summit Police Department located at 512 Springfield Avenue or in the employment section of the City of Summit website. Call 908-277-9396 for more information.
