Summit's Trick-Or-Treating Safety Guidelines For Halloween
Police released this list last week.
SUMMIT, NJ — Police in Summit have reminded residents to be conscious of coronavirus prevention measures and other safety protocols when hitting the streets this Halloween.
In a news release, police said kids and families who go trick-or-treating should be mindful about wearing masks that cover the nose and mouth, maintaining social distance and trick or treating only with people from the same household.
They are also reminded to use hand sanitizer often, never go inside another home, only accept candy in sealed packages and wipe down wrapped candy before opening.

Police recommend that households disperse treats so that children can collect candy without gathering in groups or sharing a single bowl of candy.
Most importantly, people with COVID-19 and those who have been exposed to the coronavirus should not trick or treat or disperse candy, they said.
