Summit Residents Invited To Volunteer On City Boards, Commissions

SUMMIT, NJ — The City of Summit is looking for volunteers to serve on boards and commissions.
The annual process each November includes renewing prior applications and appointing new members. Terms can range from one to five years.
"Our incredible, dedicated volunteers are one of Summit's greatest assets," Mayor Elizabeth Fagan says. "If you are passionate about making Summit a better place to live and work, please consider applying."

Boards and commissions with opportunities to volunteer include the "250 Planning Committee" that will work on ways Summit will honor the 250th anniversary of America in 2026, the Board of Education, Rent Commission, and Veterans Affordable Housing Project Committee.
The full list of available boards and commissions, and applications can be viewed through the portal online. The deadline to apply is Oct. 24.

Applications stay active for two years.
