Tatlock Lights Usage Plan Approved By Council (patch.com) — Summit’s Common Council has approved detailed rules for using the new lights at Tatlock Sports Complex, setting strict ending times for youth and high school games and practices. The ordinance limits night varsity games, blocks summer and mid-winter use, and adds security cameras to address neighborhood concerns about noise, safety, and late-night lighting. Residents and councilmembers remain divided, but the plan clears the way for lit fields starting in 2026.
   

2. Banker from Monmouth County planning to join NJ-7 Dem primary (newjerseyglobe.com) — A former Summit councilman has exited the crowded Democratic primary to challenge Rep. Tom Kean Jr. in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District, leaving eight Democrats still running. Another potential contender, banker Giancarlo Simonetti from Monmouth County, is exploring a bid despite living well outside the district, arguing a centrist Democrat can win the seat.
   

3. Cycle for Survival Kicks Off the 2026 Season, Celebrates 20 Years of Impact, and Welcomes NoBull as Apparel Partner (mskcc.org) — Cycle for Survival’s 2026 rare-cancer fundraising rides will include a Summit location, giving local residents a chance to join high-energy indoor cycling events that directly support Memorial Sloan Kettering research. Registration is already open, bikes are filling fast, and participants can earn exclusive gear while honoring loved ones and backing underfunded rare cancer treatments.
   

4. Celebrity Photos Updated Daily: Angela Bassett, Courtney B. Vance, Jack Black and More (people.com) — Summit briefly steps into the spotlight as Dionne Warwick celebrates her 85th birthday in town alongside rapper Saweetie, captured in a national celebrity photo roundup. The rest of the feature showcases stars at premieres, concerts, and charity events across the country this week.
