Summit Residents Urged To Drop Off Expired, Unused Prescription Drugs
The NJ Division of Consumer Affairs has developed Project Medicine Drop in an effort to halt the abuse and diversion of prescription drugs.

SUMMIT, NJ — As part of a Sustainable Jersey certification/grant process that the city is seeking, Summit Police is encouraging residents to drop off any unused, unwanted or expired prescription drugs.
The Police Department has a prescription drug drop-off box located on the first floor of City Hall. The NJ Division of Consumer Affairs has developed Project Medicine Drop in an effort to halt the abuse and diversion of prescription drugs.
All medications that residents want to drop off should be removed from their original packaging and placed into a zip lock bag before being deposited into the drop-off box, according to the announcement. People are advised to not dispose of syringes in this box.
