Summit Sgt. Retires After Serving City For 27 Years
Summit Police celebrated Sergeant Peter Frank's retirement on Thursday.

SUMMIT, NJ — The Summit Police Department celebrated the retirement of Detective Sergeant Peter Frank who served Summit for the past 27 years.
According to the city, Sgt. Frank began his career in law enforcement in 1993 in Pennsylvania with the Coatesville and Parkesburg police departments.
He was then hired by Summit in Jan. 1995 and began work as a patrol officer after graduating from John H. Stamler Police Academy in June 1995.

Frank started out serving on the Detective Bureau in 1999 and was promoted to Sergeant in 2003. After his promotion, Frank returned to the Detective Bureau where he served as a supervisor on investigations, crime scene processing and interrogations.
Frank also served as a firearms instructor for many years and as Range Master until his retirement this moth.

"Frank has been the recipient of two Summit Police Department Unit Citation Awards, the Croix de Negotiator Laurel Award and countless letters of commendation and appreciation for his dedication to serving the residents and business owners of Summit," the city wrote.
