Support Veterans At Family-Friendly Event In Summit: How You Can Help
The project calls for actions across New Jersey to be taken with the goal in mind of ending veteran homelessness.
SUMMIT NJ — A 5K fundraiser is being held on Nov. 2 to help homeless veterans in Union and Essex Counties get off the streets.
The "Run for Heroes" walk or run is being held at the Village Green beginning at 9 a.m. All proceeds, according to the Bridges Outreach organization, will go towards fighting veteran homelessness in North Jersey.
There will also be a Kids Fun Run for the younger members of the family. Each child will receive a medal and prize for joining.

Everyone in the 5K can list a veteran they would like to recognize on an "Honor Wall" at The Village Green.
Those who are not getting out on the course can still donate. Every donation of at least $100 will honor a veteran with a special recognition before and during the event.
The Bridges Outreach organization is the only "Bringing Veterans Home" partner in Union County. The project calls for actions across New Jersey to be taken with the goal in mind of ending veteran homelessness in the state by 2027.
Bridges works to better the lives of those in Union and Essex Counties and has a Newark-based program that focuses on street outreach and intensive care management of health, housing, and independence.
