Tractor-Trailer Crash On Rt. 24 Causes Pile-Up Near Summit

A tractor-trailer crashed into a guardrail Tuesday morning and jack-knifed, causing major traffic congestion, according to 511nj.org.

SUMMIT, NJ — A tractor-trailer was traveling on Route 24 Thursday morning when it crashed into a guardrail, causing it to jack-knife, according to NJ State Police.

The crash was reported at 11:20 a.m. in the area of milepost 6.8 in Millburn. According to 511nj.com, heavy traffic has continued throughout the day westbound from Exit 9A-Broad St./Millburn/Summit and near Chatham.

NJSP Trooper Brandi Slota told Patch that the driver of the tractor-trailer lost control and struck the guardrail, causing it to jack-knife.
