Body Found On Summit Bus Stop Bench: Police

The 35-year-old Summit man was found unconscious and unresponsive outside of Summit train station early Friday morning, police said.

SUMMIT, NJ — Summit Police officers found an unconscious and unresponsive man at a bus stop outside of Summit train station at about 2:50 a.m. on Friday.

According to police, the 35-year-old Summit resident was lying on a bench when they arrived. Officers immediately began life-saving measures, administering CPR and Narcan, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Summit's Volunteer First Aid Squad and Atlantic Health System paramedics assisted police at the scene.

Police said the official cause of death is undetermined pending an autopsy by the Union County Medical Examiner's Office.

According to police, foul play does not seem to be a factor.

The incident is under investigation by the Summit Police Department Detective Bureau.
