Where To Recycle Christmas Trees, String Lights In Summit
Christmas is still a few days away, but it's never too early to make plan for getting of your tree after the holidays.

SUMMIT, NJ — You might not want to think about getting rid of your Christmas tree just yet, as the holiday is still in a couple of days, but there are some eco-friendly ways you can prepare to dispose of your tree in Summit.
Curbside Christmas tree collection will begin on Monday, Dec. 26 and continue through Monday, Jan. 30. All ornaments, lights, and decorations must be removed, and trees should be removed from plastic bags.
Residents should place garlands and wreaths in or next to trash cans; they will be picked up with trash collection.

If you have found any old or broken string lights while decorating for the holidays, you can also bring them to the collection bin on the upper level of the Transfer Station in Summit instead of throwing them away. These materials are reused.
String lights should not be included with household curbside recycling items, as the lights will damage sorting equipment at the recycling facility, according to the city.
The Summit Transfer Station is located at 40 New Providence Ave.
