2 Dead In Fiery Teaneck NJ Turnpike Crash

The crash took place shortly after midnight on the NJ Turnpike northbound in Teaneck, state police said.

TEANECK, NJ - Two occupants of a car traveling on the New Jersey Turnpike in Teaneck died following a fiery collision with another vehicle on Sunday, authorities said.

The crash took place shortly after midnight on the NJ Turnpike northbound on the extension MP 120 in Teaneck, a spokesperson for state police told Patch.

An initial investigation found that a Plymouth and a Jeep Cherokee were traveling north when the Jeep struck the rear of the Plymouth. Both vehicles became engulfed in fire as a result of the crash, police said.

Two occupants in the Plymouth died as a result of their injuries sustained in the crash; identification of the pair is pending.

The two occupants in the Jeep sustained minor, non-life threatening injuries, police said. The roadway was closed for over four hours.
