Teaneck Public Schools to Follow Early Dismissal, Half Day Schedule Monday Due to Blizzard Watch

The alert says the state should expect "heaving snow and blowing snow with blizzard conditions" and 1 to 2 feet of snow accumulations.

Teaneck Public Schools will be holding an early dismissal and half day schedule Monday due to a Blizzard Watch for the county.

The Blizzard Watch is in effect from Monday afternoon through Tuesday evening, as the National Weather Service says a “potentially historic winter storm [is scheduled] to impact the area from late Monday into Tuesday.”

According to the alert, the state should expect “heavy snow and blowing snow with blizzard conditions likely” and 1 to 2 feet of snow accumulations.

The “heaviest snow and strongest winds will occur overnight Monday into Tuesday,” causing “extremely dangerous travel.”

The alert also warns of “whiteout conditions,” impassable secondary and tertiary roads, and strong winds that can potentially bring down power lines and tree limbs.
