Here's a brief look at some events and news to watch for this week in Teaneck:
- The Township Council meets Tuesday night at 8 p.m. for the public. The council is set to adopt the town's amended $69.1 million budget, down from an initial $70.6 million. Some residents, however, have pressed the council to make deeper spending cuts.
The suggested spending reductions shared at an April 23 meeting included cutting back planned upgrades to Votee Park's soccer fields, freezing the planned renovations at the town's former police station and cuts to the town's legal expenses.

Council members have defended the budget, saying residents often protested cuts and the Votee Park project was long overdue.
- Also at Tuesday's council meeting: A group of residents is expected to speak out in protest of Teaneck Iraq war veteran and community activist Jason Castle being disinvited as a speaker from the township Memorial Day event.
